Introducing Manor Church (with video tour!)
We are thrilled to announce that Manor Evangelical Church will be hosting us for rehearsals and performances of Finding Nemo Jr. this fall. With great acoustics and an intimate 300 seat house, this space will suit us very well once transformed into a temporary theater for showtime! It is located at 17913 NE 72nd Ave, Battle Ground, WA 98604 on the intersection of 179th Street and 72nd Avenue.
Performing shows in new spaces this year will allow the program to continue operating without the steep price increases that would be needed to keep up with climbing rental costs at schools. Additionally, performing in new spaces is a step toward a sustainable future, as it gives our community a chance to build relationships with new folks as we actively search for a more long-term facilities partnership. For more on this, please see our last update from August, and plan to join a Q and A with our ED and Board on either first class night this fall.
The Manor Church leadership has been incredibly welcoming and is actively searching for ways to partner with us in the ministry of serving youth and families. Please click here to take a video tour of the space with our Executive Director. Also, feel free to come watch open auditions for Finding Nemo, Jr. in the space on Friday, 9/13 starting at 5pm.
Keep reading to the end for more about Manor Church and our plans for the future.

School Day Shows!

Have a class or homeschool group you’d like to bring to a show? There are several opportunities to bring students to a show during the school day this year!
Audition Tips
With fall show auditions right around the corner, feel free to check out these tips as you prepare!
Smile!
- Remember that the Artistic Team is rooting for you!
- Use a loud, clear voice and good projection.
- Dress nice – not in costume, but like you would for a school presentation. A clean and professional look goes a long way in making a good impression.
- Perform with energy – move around with gestures and facial expressions that help tell the story. Songs shouldn’t be choreographed per say, but the Artistic Team is looking for “stage presence.”
- Don’t sing a song or perform a monologue from the show you are auditioning for.
- Keep your hands out of your pockets.
- Don’t throw anything.
- Try not to rock back and forth.
- Focus on phrasing and dynamics. These will make your song stand out.
- Don’t oversing. Show your strengths but show them in a controlled, musical way.
- Keep smiling and be confident, even if you think you didn’t do your best.

More about Manor Church
Manor Church of the Evangelical Church of North America was organized in 1893. Prior to 1947 the church was known as Flatwood United Brethren in Christ. In 1947 the name was changed to Evangelical United Brethren, and remained so until 1968, at which time the name was changed to its present name. The church was first served by Reverend J. H. Alexander, a circuit riding preacher, before the land on which the church building now sits was donated in 1903. The current building was constructed in the mid 1980s.
Visit the Church website to learn more about the Manor Church congregation. Thank you to Pastor Scott Waite for the historical information.
