Through the magic of musical theater, children ages 8-18 discover a world of self-expression and personal growth. Our daughters started with Journey at the age of 8. We will never forget those initial auditions where they had to muster up the courage to get up on stage alone and sing for a minute in front of a group of nearly 100 people. Shy and hesitant at first, the program provided a safe space for our girls to blossom. As they explored characters through numerous shows and sang and danced on stage, their confidence bloomed. The supportive, positive environment fostered by Journey helped them embrace their individuality and celebrate their unique talents.
The experiences of learning how to project their voice on stage and captivate an audience translated into the classroom. They were able to participate actively in discussions and deliver presentations with poise and clarity. Journey Theater not only instilled a love for the arts in our daughters, but also equipped them with invaluable life skills that will benefit them far beyond the stage, as they are now 18 and off to college. The program fosters a unique blend of confidence and humility, as kids learn to shine on stage while collaborating as part of a team. Self-esteem flourishes as they master new skills, from singing and dancing to public speaking. Perhaps most importantly, the Christian focus cultivates empathy and compassion, encouraging them to see the world through different perspectives.
