Ongoing Volunteer Positions
Ongoing volunteer positions are a great way to make a difference while gaining valuable skills and experience. These positions require a minimum commitment of 9 months (a full season) and a certain amount of hours per week in order to best meet the needs of the volunteer and the program. Some positions and duties can be combined or adjusted to fit the needs and interests of the applicant. Office Assistant
Get hands on with the details that make classes, shows and camps happen.
Ideal commitment:
Time: 9+ months
Hours: 3 – 6 hrs. / week, flexible
Location: On site in Vancouver office
Common tasks include:
Scanning, printing and copying show, class and camp materials
Burning audio CDs and checking out/in rehearsal materials
Preparation of new family letters, parent packets and other communications
Occasional errands to pick up printed materials, shirts, post office or office supplies
Development Assistant
Work behind the scenes to connect generous people with Journey’s mission.
Ideal commitment:
Time: 9+ months
Hours: 2 – 4 hrs. / week, flexible
Location: On site or remote
Common tasks include:
Data entry, and database management
Preparing and mailing donor thank you materials
Preparing monthly donor communications
Collaborating with Executive Director and development team on creative fundraising initiatives
Community Engagement Assistant
Work with Box Office Manager to share Journey’s inspiring performances with new groups.
Ideal commitment:
Time: 9+ months
Hours: 1 – 3 hrs. / week, flexible
Location: Remote
Common tasks include:
Identify and call schools, senior living, etc. to set up group tickets for shows
Some data entry related to tickets and registration

For those with a few hours here and there who want to give back to a nonprofit they admire, check out the needs below. No application is required. Simply contact the staff member listed.
Warehouse help
Make a difference you can see right away in our 8,000 sq. ft. warehouse, chalk full of costumes, puppets, stage weapons and scenery.
Common tasks include:
Sorting, organizing and labeling stock items
Cleaning and maintenance of high use areas
Storage improvement projects

Lend your sewing skills to create a costume or two for an upcoming production.

Roll up your sleeves alongside Journey board and staff members to expand the program’s ability to serve more families, better.
Alumni Committee
Help keep the Journey community strong by creating opportunities for “graduated” students and parents to stay involved and connected to each other, the mission, and the next generation.

Lend your time and expertise to help develop and implement creative marketing initiatives to expand the number of students, families and audiences touched by the program.

Share and develop your writing skills while making a huge difference for the kids and families this program serves.

Fundraising Events Committee
Share your time, creativity, and skills to plan and execute the FUNdraising events like Give More 24 and Journey’s spring benefit dinner, An Evening Spectacular.
