Based on the popular Disney Channel Original Movies, Disney’s Descendants: The Musical is a brand-new musical comedy featuring the beloved characters and hit songs from the films!

It is present-day, and in the kingdom of Auradon, all of Disney’s beloved heroes and royalty are living happily ever after, safe from the terrifying villains and troublesome sidekicks they have banished to the magic-free Isle of the Lost. That is until Ben, the benevolent teenage son of Belle and King Adam (The Beast), offers a chance of redemption for the troublemaking offspring of the evilest villains. Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos – the children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil, and Jafar – are welcomed to Auradon Prep to attend school with the children of their parents’ sworn enemies. Now entering a completely foreign world and way of life, the four Villain Kids have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

Performances April 22 – 30, 2022

Descendants auditions are open to Journey students currently enrolled in classes (ages 8-18).  Auditions will be held at Summit View Church (7701 NE 182nd Ave., Vancouver) in the main auditorium, on Friday, January 14, 2022.  Check in from 5 – 7 pm.  Doors open at 4:45.

• Auditioners prepare a 1 minute vocal audition; prepared with a background track without a lead vocal. See our Auditions Page for more information.
• All auditioners must bring a current photo (4×6 is the prefer size) and an audition form to the check in table.  
• All must complete an online costume form (coming soon) before coming to auditions.
• All parents of those auditioning must complete an online parent committee form before coming to auditions. 

Friends and family are invited to watch auditions.  Everyone over the age of 5 must wear a mask.  

Callbacks are by invitation only.  Students may be called at any time between 9am and 2pm.

Rehearsals are currently tentative. Rehearsals are planned to be held in the gym at Summit View Church.

• Friday rehearsals are held between 5:00 – 9:00pm.
• Saturday rehearsals are held between 9:00am – 1:00pm.
• At this time it is expected that all students will be required to wear masks during rehearsals.
• Tentative rehearsal dates (including dates near spring break):
  • January 28, 29, February 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26, March 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26, April 1, 9, 16.

Parent participation is mandatory for all students who are cast in the show. 

Production Fees of $140 will be assigned to all students cast in the show.  Production fees include a t-shirt.  

We will move in to the theater during the afternoon/evening of Saturday, April 16.  Tentatively, shows will be at Fort Vancouver High School theater, 5700 E 18th St., Vancouver.  

Dress rehearsals will be held at the theater on Monday, April 18, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of the same week.  Rehearsal will be from 5:30 – 9:00pm.

Performances are tentatively scheduled for Friday, April 22 at 7pm; Saturday, April 23 at 2pm and 7pm; Friday, April 29 at 7pm; and Saturday, April 30 at 2pm and 7pm. 

Cast and Crew Party will be held at a location to be determined on Friday, May 6 from 5 – 9pm.
