Drama Intensive
July 18-22 at King’s Way 3300 NE 78th St, Vancouver.
9am to 4 pm Monday through Friday

Have you always wanted to perform? Have you done some acting and gotten hooked? This week-long acting intensive is perfect for beginning and intermediate acting levels alike! Enjoy a variety of styles, monologues and scenes, and play theater games to sharpen your talent and confidence on stage. Culminates in a final showcase performance for friends and family.

Discounts:
Early Registration Discount: Students registered and paid by May 6, 2022 will receive $15 off each registration.
New Family Discount: Families enrolling a student for the first time are eligible for a discount for $25 off the total cost of registration. Enter the code FIRSTJOURNEY when registering online. This discount is given once per family.
Sibling Discount: Any family that enrolls more than one child in Journey for the same session of camps will receive $10 off for every child enrolled. Note that this discount is given once per child.
Multiple Registrations Discount: Any child who is enrolled in more than one Journey camp per session will receive $10 off every class enrolled after the first.
Sibling and Multiple Registration Discounts cannot be combined.
Refunds for camp payments must be requested at least two weeks before the first day of the camp in which a student is registered.
A $25 processing fee will be charged.
Age Policy – All campers must meet the designated age requirement (12-18 years old) within the session for which they have enrolled. Summer session is June 1 – August 31. Children who are 18 years old on June 1st may enroll in this camp; children must turn 12 by the end of the session (August 31) to participate.
Instructors:
Jared Mack
An Oregon native, Jared spent over a decade performing and studying from the Midwest to Moscow. He has recently been on stage with Broadway Rose, Bag&Baggage, PassinArt, Big Bridge Theatre Consortium, and Oregon Children’s Theatre. Jared received a Master of Fine Art in Acting from Northern Illinois University, and a Bachelor of Fine Art in Theatre from Hunter College. He is the Upper School Theater Teacher at The Bear Creek School in Redmond, WA. He lives in Monroe, WA with his wife Piper, and three kiddos, Nevaeh, Saphira, and Gander.
Stephen Pick
A Vancouver, WA native and Journey alumnus, Stephen Pick recently returned home after three years in Boston where he was teaching, directing and completing his Master of Fine Arts degree and Arts Administration certification.
Stephen was a part of the first season of Journey shows back in 2003 and was completely captivated by the strong and friendly community. Experiencing theater for the first time in Journey instigated Stephen’s love for the arts. He went on to complete degrees in theater at George Fox University and Boston University as well as co-found and run a nonprofit, Valley Repertory Theatre, for many years. Returning to Journey he is honored to bring his experience and training to an organization that helped form him as a youth.
Stephen lives in Ridgefield with his best friend and wife, Jessie, and their wonderful children, Madelyn and Lillian.
Cole Peterson
Cole is a recent Whitworth graduate with degrees in Theatre, Education, and History. He is passionate about allowing space for collaborative theatre making with his casts loves approaching rehearsals with an open mind. Cole is also a Journey Theater alum, and performed in shows and improv teams from the ages of 11 to 18. He loves Journey Theater for how it provides students of varying ages opportunities for artistic expression and does so in a safe and respectful community setting.
*Per current DOH guidance, we will not be requiring masks or distancing for students or staff at camp. That said, everyone should continue to practice good hand hygiene and must remain home if they have any flu-like symptoms or a fever (100.4+).
