Teacher: David Bareford
Pre-Requisite: W22 Writers' Room
The Writers’ Room is a two-session (16-week) class that provides aspiring young playwrights in-depth instruction in the craft of writing theatrical scripts. Even if writing plays is not your student’s passion, learning dramatic structure and script analysis can greatly benefit the actor as well. Not only will the students be guided in the creation of their own scripts, but the class will function as a “writers’ room” similar to the collaborative writing groups that create the episodes for most television series. We will work together to devise, write, and revise a three-scene, ten-minute play that will be performed in the showcase of the second session. Chromebooks or laptops for student use are encouraged but not required. Please note that this class is only open to students who were enrolled in Winter 2022.
