Continuing the Journey

For the past few years, you may have noticed the same smiling faces have been selling concessions at ALL our shows.  Those faces belong to Kristina and Greg Guyer, whose daughter, Madyson, as last on a Journey stage in 2019. While it is not uncommon for parents to serve on the same committee many times over, it is very unique that the Guyers continue to serve, long after Madyson aged-out! Below, they share a little about their Journey story.

“Our daughter Madyson has always had a love for theater. We heard about Journey from our friends, the Garners, and they invited us to watch Disney’s Peter Pan Jr. (2015). We did not expect much, as it was a children’s production. Boy, were we wrong! We were absolutely blown away by the amazing production! We knew we had to have our daughter be a part of Journey. Madyson found her group of peopel where she could be herself and thrive in a Jesus-centered theater community. We knew Journey was the place for our family to thrive with other theater families.

We continue to volunteer because we love the community that Journey provides as well as the great impact Journey has had on so many students and their families. Our favoite Journey memory is the annual tree-lighting ceremony that TREK is a part of. It was a delight to see the Journey elves and characters put smiles on the faces of the community, that in turn put a smile on their faces as well.
